Today's educational standards regard the reading and understanding of digital images, graphs and charts as important 21st-century skills. As data continues to drive many professional decisions, the race is on to explore ways to make data more visually understandable through data visualization programs and techniques. In this workshop, we will explore several programs and techniques that can be used to create and read graphs, charts, timelines and maps for educational purposes out of data available on the web. Participants will learn ways to implement the concepts and techniques throughout their professional practices and come away with valuable resources for effective information design.
