Update on Digital Literacy in Minnesota

Leslie Yoder, Moderator

12/11/12, 2:25 PM-3:15 PM
Millenium Hall of Avenues 4-5

Some say that the digital divide is no longer real or relevant, but for many Minnesota residents it is alive and well. What is happening locally to bridge the gap? A local cross-sector task force, supported by the St. Paul Public Library and the St. Paul Community Literacy Consortium has been hard at work, developing the Northstar Digital Literacy Standards and the accompanying online assessment tool and a certificate program. Come and hear about their work as well as that of the Technology Literacy Collaborative and the Minnesota Learning Commons Digital Literacy Workgroup. Find out how their efforts can inform and support K-12 educators in addressing the digital divide.
